Help for where you are: learn English, finish high school, or earn a certificate for a new job.

City Colleges of Chicago’s Career Bridge Program helps students improve their reading, writing, math, and English skills while earning an industry certificate that can lead to entry-level job opportunities and careers in one of the following areas:

  • Construction (at Dawson Technical Institute)
  • Culinary & Hospitality (at Kennedy-King College)
  • Early Childhood Education (at Daley College, Kennedy-King College, Malcolm X College, Truman College, and Olive-Harvey College)
  • Healthcare (at Arturo Velasquez Institute, Malcolm X College, South Chicago Learning Center, West Side Learning Center, and Wright College Humboldt Park)
  • Manufacturing (at Arturo Velasquez Institute and Daley College)
  • Supply Chain & Transportation Technology (at Olive-Harvey College)

Career Bridge programs are tuition-free.

Students can complete the program in as few as 1-2 semesters.

English as a Second Language classes help you learn English for the first time and improve your English communication skills.

GED/HiSET prep will get you ready to take the tests you need to earn your high school diploma. You can also get help paying for those tests.

Finish High School

We offer free classes to help you earn your Illinois High School Diploma, go to college, and build a career. Students who plan to take one of the two Illinois High School Diploma exams (the GED® or the HiSET®) may be eligible for scholarships covering the examination fee.
