Advancing Opportunities for Women in STEM (AOWS) funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) is designed to prepare women of color for a career in a science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) field. Program participants will be a part of a community of like-minded individuals who share an interest in STEM. Students can take advantage of academic support, career prep, and networking opportunities. Stipends are available for eligible participants.

To apply, you must be a Malcolm X student who is pursuing an Associate in Science degree and show an interest in entering a STEM field. While the program is open to all Malcolm X students who meet these requirements, preference will be given to women of color. The goal of AOWS is to boost the number of women of color in STEM fields; a group that has historically been underrepresented in STEM.
