Partnership Type:

Admissions Partnerships

  • Guaranteed Admission partnerships with four-year universities allow City Colleges students to sign on to participate, and know that as long as they meet all the qualifications by the time they complete their associate degree, they will move seamlessly on to that university.

Open Access Transfer

  • Universities offer guaranteed admissions to transfer students, as long as they meet all the qualifications listed. This partnership is not tied to CCC students, transfer students from any college can apply as long as they meet the criteria.

Scholarship Partnerships

  • An agreement with university to award additional scholarship to transfer students from the City Colleges of Chicago.

Star Scholarship

  • Chicago Public Schools students and students attending Chicago-based Big Shoulders Fund-supported schools are able to pursue a degree or certificate at City Colleges at no cost. That’s free tuition and books! Star Scholars also have access to additional scholarships and other perks when transferring to partner four-year institutions.
  • Students with questions should contact the university partner regarding the Star partnership eligibility requirements and application process.”

Program Articulation

  • Transfer pathway that ensures that City Colleges students are taking the right classes to transfer to the four-year university with minimal loss of credit.

HBCU

HSI

  • Institution that enroll at least 25% LatinX students.

PBI

  • Institution that enroll at least 40% Black students.

  • Private colleges/universities are higher education institutions that are primarily funded through tuition fees, donations, and endowments from private sources, such as individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Public

  • Public colleges/universities are higher education institutions that are primarily funded by state governments.
