Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Programs
The WIOA is a federally-funded program that provides training opportunities to people who are out of work or who need to gain skills to change careers or obtain a new job.

Timuel D. Black JR. Scholarship & Fellowship Program
The program’s goal is to support City Colleges students who are emerging community leaders as they complete their studies and hone their community change leadership skills, as well as their knowledge of Chicago social movements and local history.
Future Ready
Eligible Chicagoans may be able to take college courses and earn a job-ready certificate in a high-demand field at no cost.
Workforce Equity Initiative (WEI) Grants
Eligible Chicagoans may be able to earn free tuition and books to complete a short-term program at City Colleges.
Star Scholarship
Students who have graduated within the last year from a CPS, CPS charter, or Big Shoulders Fund-supported high school with a GPA of 3.0 or higher may qualify for free tuition and books at City Colleges.
Options for the Future Scholarship
Students who graduate from a CPS Options (alternative) high school in 2022 may qualify for free tuition and books at City Colleges.
SEED Scholarship
Future CPS teachers participating in the Teach Chicago Tomorrow program may be eligible for a scholarship to help cover their tuition, books, class materials, and more.
Fresh Start
Students who have been away from City Colleges and owe debt from prior classes may qualify to have their debt waived.
Chicago Housing Authority Partners in Education
CHA residents and Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program participants are eligible for quality training and educational opportunities at low or no cost.
Panther Pride Scholarship
New and returning Olive-Harvey College students may qualify for a scholarship worth up to the total cost of tuition for the semester.
Statesmen Scholarship
New and returning Kennedy-King College students may qualify for a scholarship worth up to the total cost of tuition for the semester.
Chicago Early Learning Workforce Scholarship
Current Chicago Early Learning program staff and Chicago residents interested in entering the early childhood workforce may qualify for a scholarship to start or advance their career in the field.
Waste Management TDL Scholarship and Grant
Current and future Olive-Harvey College students who are interested in earning a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or diesel technology credential may qualify for funding worth up to $5,000.
Early Childhood Access Consortium for Equity (ECACE) Scholarship
If you work or have worked in early childhood education and want to earn a credential or degree in child development, you may be eligible for the ECACE Scholarship Program.
